Conjecture is almost here!

Check out the schedule, then register! Don't want to drive home late? Book a room at the hotel!

See you there!

Smartgroups is defunct, so we've moved back to Yahoo Groups.

Finding Local Gamers and Gaming Groups

A useful article. I will probably look into placing ads in the ComputorEdge and see where there are community calendars. If anyone knows anything, comment here and we can all check into it.

Sorry I missed tonight's meeting -- by the time I got there, it would've been past 9:30, and it just didn't seem worth the drive.

Strategicon [04 Apr 2005|02:47pm]

For those who might be interested, the next Strategicon is fast approaching. The next one is Gamex and it's over Memorial Day weekend (May 27-30) at the Westin Hotel near LAX. Pre-registrations are due by May 6. You can go to their website to see all the info. I haven't been to one in a few years, but I've heard that it's come under new management in the past few years and that some previous problems have been getting fixed so now may be a good time to think about going to one. If you haven't been to a gaming convention before, it's certainly an experience. :)

Coins and Baseball Cards [27 Mar 2005|11:53pm]

[ mood | excited ]

I know this post is off topic, but hope it isn't too inappropriate for our group. I'm looking for a recommendation. Since I know you folks in this community, I thought you might be able to lead me to someone I can trust. From my experience it seems that gamers often = sci-fi/fantasy-ers. It also seems to me that often sci-fi/fantasy-ers = comic-ers = action figure collectors = MTG and other CCG collectors = sometime Sports Card collectors = sometime stamp or coin collectors...

Does anyone here know someone in San Diego who collects coins and/or baseball cards? I have family here who need to evaluate a fairly large collection of coins and baseball cards to be sold possibly on eBay, or by consignment, or in bulk to the right buyer. Do you have a friend whom I could trust as an honest and fairly knowledgeable appraiser? We know nothing about either type of collection. This is no promise, as I'm not the owner, but I'm thinking that anyone able to help us in this quest might be in for a cut if something good happens. Thanks for your help. Please feel free to contact me directly at ranld@mindspring.com. -- Randy
